Essay on my father

Location-Classroom

 Mrs. Thomas:

Before you all leave for the evening, you will have a writing assignment that will be due tomorrow.

(The class groans)

Mrs. Thomas:

In honor of Father’s Day, I want you all to write an essay about your dad. You all will be required to read it to the class.

(Student raises his hand)

Mrs. Thomas:

Yes, Henry?

Henry:

Do we have to?

Mrs. Thomas:

Yes, and you will stand in front and read it to the class. You all are dismissed. Have a great evening!

(The Next Day)

Mrs. Thomas:

Good afternoon class! I am super excited to hear your stories!

(Several students read their essays)

Mrs. Thomas:

We have time for one more. Who would like to read their essay?

(student raises her hand)

Perla:

Me.

Mrs. Thomas:

You’re up Perla.

(Perla gets up and walks to the front of the class to read her essay)

Perla:

My dad thinks he cool, but he’s lame. (Perla chuckles) He’s always embarrassing me everywhere we go. One time he dropped me off at school and when we pulled up to the drop-off area, he told me bye and blasted N’Sync’s “Bye, Bye, Bye,” as I got out of the car. Everyone was laughing and staring, and I hurried up and went into the building. Another time, my friends were over, and we were listening to music in my room and My dad comes in with these old school clothes doing the Nay- Nay. I swear I think he had leg warmers on that day. All my friends laughed and said my dad was way cool. I was so embarrassed. I have countless stories of my dad’s silliness. I remember one Sunday morning he woke me up for church with a water gun. That was totally not funny. He sprayed me with water and water got all over my bed. He just laughed and said it’s time to get up for church. Oh, and how could I ever forget the most embarrassing one of them all. Last year right before the Christmas break, I had a choir concert. My dad was late and came in with this homemade shirt that had Christmas lights taped on it. It was so embarrassing. Somehow, he was able to find a seat in the front and when I had my solo, he stood and cheered for me. I just wanted to run and hide. Thinking about all the memories I’ve had with my dad are so embarrassing, but I wouldn’t trade him for anything.

(The class clapped)

Mrs. Thomas:

You all did a fantastic job! It was awesome hearing how much your fathers mean to you. Class is dismissed. have a great weekend!
