Surrender

I felt God speaking to me this morning about surrender. “What’s the definition of surrender?” is what I heard. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” What does it mean to really leave your worries with God? How do we not pick them up? 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. How do we take every thought captive? We have to have faith and apply the word to our lives.

We have to be doers of the word. James 1:22-25 says, “Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it----- they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!

Just like we go to the doctor and apply or take medicine for our bodies to get well, we need to apply the word to our lives for breakthroughs and see change in our lives.
