The Power of Words
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit- you choose.” (MSG) Many of us may not realize, but our words have power. I believe the things that we speak can actually shape our life. Not only the things we speak, but what we allow others to speak into our lives. If you have an upcoming exam or you are waiting on test results from your doctor, you should be speaking and believing God for a good report. Regardless of how you feel, you speak and believe that you are going to do great on that exam. You speak and believe that you are going to get a good report from your doctor or that your meeting at work is going to go well.
If by chance someone speaks against you, rebuke those words, don’t accept that, and cancel those word assignments in Jesus name. The biggest issue that arises is when we believe those negative words. If we believe them, they take root, and produce fruit. Parents be sure to speak life to your children. If their child’s father was not a positive role model do not speak ill to that child telling them they are going to be just like their father. Those words will take root and before you know it because of the words you spoke over your child will come to life.
I encourage you to pray and speak what the word of God says. If you are believing God for a healing speak what God’s word says. Exodus 15:26 says, “I am the Lord who heals you.” Make it personal. You can say: “Father, your word says that you heal me. I thank you father for healing my body in Jesus name. Remember God is not man that he lies. If he says it, he will do it. You can count on that. I encourage you to keep pressing forward, speak life to your situation and believe God’s word.
