Have you ever been desperate for God’s help? Maybe you found yourself in a health issue, job crisis, financial crisis, or any other crisis, and you desperately needed the Lord’s help. David found himself in a crisis in this Psalm. He was desperate for the Lord to intervene.

I recently battled health issues, and I was desperate for God’s help. I needed him to intervene at that moment. Verses six through seven stand out to me for several reasons. The verses say: “I’m ready now to worship, so ready. I thank you, God—you’re so good. You got me out of every scrape, and I saw my enemies get it.” It stands out to me for two reasons. Number one, when we find ourselves waiting on the Lord to intervene, we should thank him in advance while we are waiting on our answered prayer and number two when God does answer our prayer we should thank him and go to tell the world.

When I was going through my health situation, I had not yet received my full healing, and I had not received my test results. I thanked God in advance for healing me, regardless of how my body felt. I still had symptoms, but again thanked God in advance for my healing. By no means was I perfect. It was a challenge for me. Your physical will clash with your spiritual, and you have to allow your faith to step in. For example, I know this Is what the data says, but this is what the word of God says. When I received my results, I was thanking God, just as David did in these last verses. I want to encourage you to thank God while you are waiting for your answer and when you receive the answer to your prayer.
