How's Your Posture?
How is your posture? Webster’s dictionary defines posture as “a conscious mental or outward behavioral attitude.” Some synonyms for the word posture are attitude, stance, and view. The other day I felt God speak to me about my posture. If I pray about something, I have to have faith that God will come through for me. If we are honest with ourselves, having faith is not always easy, but we must believe what God has placed in our hearts. I think that along this Christian journey, God speaks to us through people, dreams, billboards, his word, and other ways.
I want to encourage you to check your posture. How would your stance be if I told you I would give you twenty dollars on Friday? Would you constantly remind me and ask me if I’m still going to provide you with the money? Would you walk around in a state of defeat even though I already told you I would give you the money? No, you would have the knowledge that the twenty dollars is yours come Friday. You would have a stress-free rest of your week because you would already know I would come through for you. When we go to God and ask him for something, we have to walk away from that prayer, knowing that God will come through for us. We should walk away from that prayer happy. And while we are waiting, we should be mindful of our posture. Are we biting our nails or still on pins and needles, wondering how this situation will work out? We shouldn’t be. We should already know that God is going to come through for us. While you wait on your breakthrough, continue with your daily life.
You can even find scriptures that speak to what you believe God for. If you believe in God for healing, while you wait, read scripture. Thank God already for healing your body. Hebrews 11:10 says, “For he was waiting expectantly and confidently looking forward to the city which has foundations, an eternal, heavenly city whose architect and builder is God.” Scripture shows us we should wait on God expectantly, knowing that our blessing will come. Praise God and thank him in advance for your blessing. Continue to have faith and find scriptures that you can read daily that will encourage you. Remember, God loves you. The answer to his promises are Yes and Amen.
