Quiet the Noise
Have you ever felt like you had so much noise around you that you couldn't hear God's voice? Sometimes we have to take a moment and crowd out the noise to focus on what is trying to say to us. We hear our family's voices, friends, "The Experts," and many others trying to be helpful and may have the best intentions, but it's sometimes too much. What is God prompting you to do, and Where is God leading you? What is God saying to you? Follow his voice. John 10:27-28 says, "27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them away from me." Although those close to us believe they know what we should do and mean well, we must ask God.
God knows our lives and why he created us. He knows what our kingdom assignment is, and he knows the directions we need to take. Suppose you are driving to Montana. Are you going to ask someone that has never driven there about directions on how to get there? Most likely not. We should do the same with God. God created us; why are we asking people what we are supposed to do? We need to ask God. Now I believe when we consult God, he can use people to speak a word to us to lead us in the direction we should go. I also think there will not be confusion but rather clarity. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, "33 for God [who is the source of their prophesying] is not a God of confusion and disorder but of peace and order. As [is the practice] in all the churches of the saints (God's people)," if someone speaks a word to you, God will give you complete peace and confirmation about what this person is speaking to you about. If you have to silence your phone and social media for a while to get a clear understanding, I encourage you to do some.
Sometimes, believe it or not, we must silence ourselves from our loved ones so we can get healing or even clarity for a temporary period. It doesn't mean you don't love them because you do, but you're taking time to heal and gain understanding from God. Continue to draw closer to the father; he will give you the clarity you desperately need. You can always count on him. He loves you and wants the best for you. The next time you feel overwhelmed with too many answers or opinions, quiet the noise and draw near to our father. James 4:8 says, "8 Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners, and clear your minds, you doubters.
