Hold On To The Promise
Often when we are having a rough time, we tend to forget and doubt that a promise that God has given us will come to pass. We may think,” How is this supposed to happen because I am such and such age? Why is it taking so long? When is it going to happen? Why hasn’t it happened yet? Am I doing something wrong? Did God forget about me?” We tend to formulate all these questions about why the promise hasn’t yet passed. I want to encourage and remind you to keep the promise. If someone has given you a prophetic word that you know is from God, meditate on that promise; if there are scriptures that God has spoken to you for your specific promise, meditate and remind yourself of God’s word. Write those prophetic words and scriptures down and read them daily. As you read over these, it builds your faith.
Imagine if you received a package with something important to you and you have to take that package home and let’s say there is extensive travel time to get that package to your home. Let’s say you had to hold on to the parcel during rainy, stormy, and sunny weather. You will ensure you get that package home without dropping it or losing it. You’ll hold dear life to that package and won’t let it out of your sight. I want to encourage you to treat the promise that same way. Hold on to dear life to your promise, and when the enemy comes to discourage you, remind yourself of the promise. As we await the promise, we will experience different seasons, just as in the example of carrying that package in stormy and sunny weather. Build your faith and remind yourself what God has spoken to you. Hold on to it for dear life to that promise, and don’t let it go.
