God’s Timing Isn’t Our Timing
Have you ever wanted something right now? It’s like you absolutely had to have that thing at that very moment. We live in a fast-paced, fast food, drive-through type of society where we don’t have to wait too long for anything. You order a package on Amazon and you can get it the next day. As soon as the drive-through attendant takes your order, you drive to the next window and your order is ready. We hardly ever have to wait on anything and by chance, if we do, we are up in arms and ready to go off on the manager or the worker in front of us. What about when it comes to the things of God? Did you know that God’s timing isn’t our timing? We are ready for that answered prayer as soon as we get up off of our knees. We expect that job promotion to come immediately. Or for some, we are expecting our future spouse to just come in and swoop off our feet after we prayed for God to send our spouse.
God doesn’t work on our timetable. We may be expecting that answered prayer now, but God doesn’t work that way. I want to encourage you that if you are believing God for something continue to pray and continue to wait in expectancy. It’s so easy to throw in the towel of our prayers if they aren’t answered right away. What if God is waiting on us? I think that sometimes we think we are waiting on God, but what if he’s waiting on us?
Let’s say you’re believing God for a spouse. Have you asked yourself if you are ready for a spouse? Do you know your purpose? What Am I doing while I wait? Am I complaining about not having a spouse or am I working on the gifts God has given me as I wait? Am I preparing to be a spouse? Am I taking classes or have mentors that can give me godly wisdom on how to be a good spouse?
I encourage you to wait in expectancy. If you are believing God for healing, a promotion, a spouse, a new car, or anything else maybe you’re believing God for your children or family to become saved. I want to encourage you to keep believing and keep expecting God to answer your prayer. Don’t allow society to make you think that God is holding out on you because he’s not. God has your best interest at heart and he loves you very much.
LUKE 11:9-10 SAYS:
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Keep asking God and believing in faith and watch Him move on your behalf. God is so good.
