The Rain Is Coming
I want to tell you that the rain is coming. The promise God gave shall come to fruition. 1 Samuel says, “Also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.”
I recently read 1 Kings 18:41-45. “41 And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.43 “Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked.“There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”44 The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’”45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.
Elijah said that a rainstorm was coming and got into position. The servant went out and looked and didn’t see anything. the servant went and looked seven times, and on the seventh time, he saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea. Often, we look at the natural, and it seems like nothing is happening. We are waiting on a spouse, a new job, healing, or another promise. I encourage you to get into position just as Elijah did. How can you get in position? If you are waiting on a job, get your interview skills up to par, apply for the job, and have faith. We must prepare, prepare, prepare.
When we are waiting, God is working behind the scenes; we can’t see it. It may seem like nothing is happening, but keep believing, seek God, and keep your faith. The servant didn’t see a cloud in the sky at first, but not too long afterward, a cloud appeared. I know it’s hard to keep the faith. I’m all too familiar with that. Some days it seems like our faith is on top of the world, and we know for a fact what God promised. Other times, it feels like we are on the struggle bus trying to hold dear to our faith, hoping the enemy doesn’t steal it from us. Find scriptures that build up your faith, listen to worship music, and hold on to that promise. Remember, the rain is coming. Yes, it may seem like nothing is happening in the natural, but God is working while we wait. The rain is coming. I encourage you to go back and re-read 1 Kings 18. Let this passage be a reminder that the rain is coming. Keep pressing into God and keep believing for the promise to pass.
