And God Said...
Recently I was reading through Genesis 1 and one of the key things that stood out to me was, “And God Said...” Let’s start at verse one. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light: and there was light.” (Vs#1-3)
Verse six through seven says, “ And God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made firmament: and it was so.” As you continue reading through Chapter one you’ll pick up on the theme that every time God spoke, he created something; What God spoke came into being. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (KJV). If we are created in the image of God does that mean that if we too speak, we can create? The answer is… Yes! Because we are created in the image of God and we are speaking spirits, we must be mindful of what we are saying.
I want you think back on a time in your life when you spoke something, and it happen. If you just had a light bulb moment of something you spoke that came to pass, that’s what I’m talking about. I believe we must be mindful of the words that we speak, because they will come to pass. We are created in God’s likeness. I want to encourage you to read through Genesis 1. As you read through it, you’ll see that every time God spoke something, it came into being. When God spoke Earth into existence, he didn’t say there’s no light here; What am I going to do? It’s too dark here. He said, let there be light, and it was so. Whatever situation you are facing I want to encourage you to speak what God says. If you are believing God for healing; declare in faith that by His stripes you are healed. Declare that your body is blessed; Continue to speak what you want, not what you see.
However, speak what you see if you can see yourself healed. If you can see yourself healed speak words of healing over yourself. If you are believing God for a spouse or a brand-new vehicle, find scriptures and declare them over your situation daily. Can you see yourself in that brand new car? Can you see yourself married? If you can, declare it and believe it. Ephesians 5:1 says, “Therefore become imitators of God copy Him and follow His example, as well-beloved children imitate their father.”
