It's Urgent

As I drove to work the other day, I couldn't help but notice how many cars sped past me. It was early in the week and there were a lot of cars on the road.  It seemed as though everyone was on their way somewhere; work perhaps. I saw one vehicle jump in front of another vehicle.  As I continued my journey to work, I noticed that just about every car I saw had a sense of urgency. They had somewhere that they had to be. The more I saw the urgency people had to get to their destinations, the more I wondered where our sense of urgency is when it comes to spreading the good news.

We have to be intentional about spreading the good news of Jesus. Jesus died on the cross for you and I. He saved us from eternal damnation. Because of what Jesus did for you and I, we can now have eternal life in heaven. Isn't that GREAT NEWS!!!! That is what we should share with others. We should have a sense of urgency to share Jesus with others.

Life is short and we will all face that day where we are no longer among the living. The time is now to tell others that Jesus saves and that he loves them. He paid the ultimate price so that we wouldn't have to. He loved us so much he died for you and I so that we could have eternal life in heaven.  So, yes, if we care about others it is DEFINITELY important to tell them about Jesus.

Imagine in your mind the faces of those that you love and care about. What if those individuals were headed down a path  of destruction? What if they were destroying their life?  Would  you warn them?  The answer should be, "yes." You would encourage them to follow  a better path.

Spreading the gospel is  the same. We spread the gospel because we care about where people spend eternity. We spread the gospel because that is what we are called to do. We spread the gospel because there is power in the name of Jesus. We spread the gospel because miracles happen. We spread the gospel because we know what Jesus has done in our own lives. There many reasons why we must spread the gospel. When someone accepts Jesus as their Lord and savior it is a beautiful moment and a time of celebration!
