Going Against The Grain
Imagine if we as woman stopped focusing on relationships and stepped outside our comfort zones and really focused on God and our purpose. I knew a woman that was in a relationship for several years. They went to church together, involved in ministry together, and did everything together. They were best friends. They planned their whole life out and planned on marriage someday. They were comfortable with each other. After a while, they started to drift apart and the two of them eventually broke up. She drew closer to God and he didn’t. He drew away from God. He wanted to come back into her life, but she told him that he had to come to church and get right with the Lord and he refused. After several years of trying to get back with this woman without change, he decided to be with someone else. This was traumatic for this woman and she wrestled with herself as to if she made the right decision by giving this man an ultimatum. She asked herself Am I going to follow after God and be all he’s calling me to be or Am I going stay in a comfortable situation and to be with someone that is not ready to purse God with me?
It hurt her heart deeply because they were together for so long and she really loved him. Yes, their relationship wasn’t perfect, but she felt as though they were perfect for each other. I don’t know how her story ended, but if it is God’s will for two people to marry, God will bring them together or God will send someone new.
I ask you today, are you going to go against the grain and run after all that God has called you to be or are you going to stay stuck in comfortability? What has God been speaking to you about regarding your purpose? It’s so easy to stay in a comfortable situation. It takes faith to truly let go of someone that you’ve known for so long. Someone that you had hoped to build a future with and run after a calling that you’re not 100 percent certain on. I challenge you to go against the grain and be all that God is calling you to be. When you make a decision, you must stick with it.
Father I pray for those women that are stuck in relationships that are perpetual cycles of going nowhere. I pray that you speak to these women about their purpose and I pray that you give them strength to run after you. Father if certain relationships need to die let them die, heal hearts and help these women run after all you are calling them to be. Father for some, heart strings are attached to someone. I pray that you heal their hearts and I pray that you give these women the boldness to run after you in Jesus name amen.
