Psalm 55:22
22 Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it], and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). (AMPC)
I love how the verse reads in the amplified classic. It stands out to me. It says, “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it]…I’m going to pause there for a moment. When you think of the weight of your worry, it’s extremely heavy. The worry could be: When will I find another job? How will I pay the bills this month? Where will my next meal come from? What will those test results say when I go back to the doctor? Worry can literally be anything that is troubling your mind. That worry, yes, the one that’s been keeping you up at night or has you distracted all day is a heavy burden to carry. I like how the amplified says to release the weight of it. When you give your worries over to God, release it, let it go. Whatever the worry is, God will support you through it all. You may not know how you’re going to get through this, but God will give you the strength to press forward.
