Power and Authority

Romans 16:20 says, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The wonderful grace of our Lord Jesus with you. No matter what you face in this life, remember that the enemy is under your feet. Luke 10:19 says, Listen! I have given you authority, so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you. I was reminded of these two scriptures yesterday. I stood on a covered patio talking with friends and just laughing and joking. I felt a tap on my shoe and looked down to see a long snake between my shoes. You can imagine the look on my face. I want to remind you that God has given us power and authority. No matter what the enemy tries to throw at you, he’s under your feet. That image of the snake under me reminds me that you have the power and authority to overcome the enemy through Christ. The Christ in me is bigger than that snake on the ground. If the enemy is trying to frighten you with health concerns, concerns with your co-worker, or anything else, he’s under your feet; The blood covers those things, and the enemy has no power over you. God has given us power and authority to overcome what the enemy is trying to bog us down with. What snakes are in your life that is trying to trip you up? Whatever it may be, you can and will overcome it.
