Bird's Eye View
Have you ever prayed to God about something that you wanted, and It didn’t happen? I’m talking praying and believing that God will come through clutch with your answered prayer. But what do you do when you were hoping and having faith, maybe even asking others to come into agreement with you or even to pray for your specific request. I’ve had this experience in the past, but I also had it again recently. And Phew chilleee is stings like the dickens.
Have you noticed that sometimes we tend to want to withdraw from God, church, and sometimes even our friends close to us. We want to sit in our funk and sulk all day. If I’m honest, it’s hard to pray for something you want only not to get the result you hoped. I’m trying my best to see the silver lining in my situation, but It isn’t easy. I still know that God is good and that he has my best interest in mind, but that still doesn’t take the sting away. I was honest with God about my feelings, and I encourage you to do the same. I wrote God a letter and told him how I felt. We have to start normalizing how we feel. God already knows that we are hurt, and I believe he hurts when we hurt. He sees our pain and our frustration and understands how we feel.
1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” The keyword in that scripture is “HIS WILL.” Our request has to be in the will of God. When God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want him to, there’s often a reason, and at the moment, it doesn’t feel good, but later down the road, it was for our benefit. We also have to remember that God is God and he can answer our prayers how he chooses.Maybe you don’t understand why that relationship didn’t work out or why you got fired from that job or why you experienced a loss, or even why you experienced a sudden change.
We often don’t understand until much later, and sometimes we may never understand. We have to trust that if God has allowed a sudden change in our lives, it is for a reason. God doesn’t like when we are upset or when unfair situations happen to us, but he can and will turn things around for our good. I want to encourage you that if you find yourself in a world of hurt, know that God can and will turn what the enemy meant for evil into something good. Genesis 50:20 says, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. You don’t know whom you may help later down the line because of the setback you experienced. You also have to remember that God has a bird’s eye view. He can see the bigger picture of your life. He knows exactly where he is taking you, what things and tools you need for your assignment, and when and where that assignment will occur. Our vision is limited, but God can see what our lives will be like tomorrow as well as twenty years from now. God loves you so very much and has your best interest in mind.
