Review Your Benefits
Most companies have something called open enrollment. Open enrollment comes around about once a year and you review and make selections on the health coverage you want for the following year. The good thing about open enrollment is that you can review your coverages first before selecting the type of coverage that is best for you and your family. Sometimes we select our options and forget what is covered by the time we need to use our benefits.
I was recently reminded about the benefits that we as believers have. Have you reviewed your benefits yet? God’s word is filled with some many promises. Psalm 103 is one of the chapters I recently read. Verse two says, “Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits; Verse three says, “Who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases; Verse four says, Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you lavishly with lovingkindness and tender mercy;” As you continue reading this Psalm, you’ll start to notice more and more of the benefits that God has for us. Just in the first few verses, we see that God forgives us. We don’t have to walk around carrying shame, blame, and condemnation. Hence, there’s another benefit: Romans 8:1(AMP) “There is now no condemnation no guilty verdict, no punishment for those who are in Christ Jesus who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior.
As with most companies when annual enrollment comes around sometimes the benefits change each year. Maybe the year prior, certain medical conditions or procedures were covered or the insurance company paid most if not all your doctor’s visits; Now, with the new benefits package you must pay forty percent, and the insurance company pays the rest. Under God’s policy, which is everything in the Bible, year after year your coverage stays the same. You never have to worry about God saying to you, he only forgives twenty percent of your sins, and you must carry the other eighty percent. No! Review your benefits package. You are fully covered and fully forgiven regardless of what the enemy may try to convince you of. I want to encourage you to not only review, your benefits in the Bible, but believe them too! It’s one thing to read, “By His Stripes You Are Healed,” but do you believe that your healing is included in your benefits package? It’s one thing to read Deuteronomy 8:18(KJV) that says, “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” Do you believe that God gives you power to obtain wealth? You can read it, but do you believe it? I encourage you to read through the word and ask God to give you revelation as you read through your benefits.
