In The Storm

Scripture does work. I’ve been a believer for a long time and I’ve read the Bible cover to cover. I’ve also had a true relationship with God for quite sometime now. It is so important to have key verses to pull out when you are in a storm. Early this morning, there was a thunderstorm and it was so bad that it frightened me. I started meditating on 2 Timothy 1:7. I kept repeating, “God has not given ME the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” The key thing is to make the scriptures personal to you. If you are his child, this verse is speaking to you telling that fear does not come from God.

Each time I repeated that verse to myself, I felt my anxiety and fear slowly diminishing. But, as soon as I focused on the howling winds, heavy rain, and claps of thunder, my fear and anxiety level creeped back up. I have struggled with fear my entire life, but when you mediate and believe God’s word, it just does something to you. It makes you feel so much better. Just the other night I was trailing off to sleep,I became anxious and again I repeated God’s word to myself and my anxiety went away and I fell asleep.

If you are struggling with fear and anxiety, I encourage to meditate on God’s word and focus on Jesus. By repeating the scriptures back to yourself and making them personal will make you feel so much better. God bless You!
