Vantage Point

We often make decisions from where we are seated in life. Depending where we are seated determines what we actually see. I recently made a decision based on my vantage point. I was reminded that sometimes we make decisions from our limited perspective. In order to make an accurate assessment, we must see the whole picture. Being in this situation, made me think about the importance of relying on God. God can see the entire picture and can guide us properly if we allow him. Our perspective is determined by where we are seated. If I am In the kitchen and my sister is in living room and she asks me if I saw what occurred on the T.V., depending on where I am in the Kitchen will determine what I saw. If she has a front row seat in front of the T.V. and I have an angled perspective from the kitchen, our accounts of what actually occurred on T.V. maybe different.

Let’s say you applied for a job. It appears to be a great opportunity and maybe even a fresh start for your family. It’s important to seek God and ask for his will to be done in this situation. God can see the WHOLE vantage point. He can see what may or may not happen five years from now with that company. We can only see from our limited vantage point. We see: Great pay, Great benefits, Great company, Advancement, Fresh start, etc. Allow God to take the lead in your decision making because after all , he can see the bigger picture. God knows what relationships and people you will need in your life five and ten years from now. God knows what the best career for you is and which company will be best suited for you. Remind yourself before diving in to anything that God sees the entire picture and can properly guide your life.
