Ezekiel 34 -Help Is Here

11-16 "'God, the Master, says: From now on, I myself am the shepherd. I'm going looking for them. As shepherds go after their flocks when they get scattered, I'm going after my sheep. I'll rescue them from all the places they've been scattered to in the storms. I'll bring them back from foreign peoples, gather them from foreign countries, and bring them back to their home country. I'll feed them on the mountains of Israel, along the streams, among their own people. I'll lead them into lush pasture so they can roam the mountain pastures of Israel, graze at leisure, feed in the rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. And I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep. I myself will make sure they get plenty of rest. I'll go after the lost, I'll collect the strays, I'll doctor the injured, I'll build up the weak ones and oversee the strong ones so they're not exploited.

I don't know what you're going through today, but I want to remind you that in this chapter of Ezekiel, God is speaking to you and reminding you that he is going to look for you. God will look for you if you feel you are too far gone or have fallen off. When you lose something valuable or essential to you, you don't just forget about it. You will search high and low for that thing. If you lose a ring or a necklace, you will tear the house apart looking for it. God feels the same way about you. He will bring you back to him because he loves you, and you're valuable to him.

God continues and tells us that he will rescue us. Suppose you have fallen into a dark place and can't find your way out. Let this verse be a reminder that God is coming to rescue you. Ask him to help you, and he will as you continue reading the remaining verses. God is telling you that he's going to take care of you. If you are a parent of a child or animal, you understand this concept of what God is saying very well. When you look after someone, you ensure they get the proper care they need. You feed them, clothe them, take them to the doctor, and love them; You genuinely make sure they are cared for. God does the same thing for us. He looks after us and makes sure we are cared for. If you're hurting, God heals you. I love how God tells us that he goes after the lost and collects the strays. Sometimes we may feel like the pile of left-over fruit that gets picked over because everyone wants the one that has no blemishes on them. Sometimes those pieces of fruit are overlooked, but I want to remind you that God loves you and thinks you are beautiful, and he wants to use you if you allow him. I encourage you to open your heart to him and accept his invitation to rescue you.
